Terms

Terms of service

Effective 2026-09-17. By opening a shop on Fill the Chair, or by using it as a member of a shop's staff, you agree to these terms. They are short on purpose.

The parties

“We” means Thunder Spray (Andrew Johns), Windsor, Ontario, Canada, operating Fill the Chair. “You” means the shop that opened the account (the owner, and the staff the owner adds). Your clients are not parties to these terms; their relationship is with you.

What you get

Booking, scheduling, memberships, texting, checkout and payments, statements, an owner dashboard, and an optional AI phone assistant, as described on this site. We will keep it running, keep your data separated from every other shop's, and fix what breaks. Features change over time; we tell you inside the product when they do.

Early access

The product is new. Some pieces are switched on per shop as they are ready for that shop — live card payments and the AI receptionist on your own number are the two to expect a conversation about. Your trial and your founding price do not depend on those being on. If something is not ready for you yet, we say so rather than pretending.

What you pay

  • The price on the pricing page on the day you sign up, per month, after a 14-day free trial that needs no card. Founding shops keep 40% off for as long as they stay.
  • Card processing at Stripe's published rate plus the platform fee shown on the pricing page. The money settles into your Stripe account, not ours.
  • Texting is included up to your plan's allowance; past it, the per-segment price on the pricing page, billed at cost.
  • No client fees, no commissions, no setup fee, no export fee, no minimum term.

Prices are shown in USD; Canadian shops pay the same number in CAD. Taxes are added where the law requires. If a price changes, you get at least 30 days' notice and the founding discount still applies to the new number.

What we ask of you

  • Use it for a real shop. One account per business; add your staff through the Team screen rather than sharing a login.
  • Text your clients only with their consent, and honour STOP. The product enforces the mechanics; the responsibility for who you message is yours.
  • Keep your policies (cancellation window, deposits, no-show fee) accurate and shown to clients, which the booking flow does for you when they are set.
  • Do not upload anything you have no right to, and do not try to reach another shop's data. Every shop is walled off; trying is a breach of these terms.
  • Be honest with your clients about the AI assistant. It introduces itself as automated; do not tell clients it is a person.

Your data

Your clients, your appointments, your history are yours. You can export all of it, free, in one click, at any time. How we handle it is in the privacy policy. We act as your service provider for client data and use it only to run the product for you.

Ending it

You can close the account whenever you like from inside the product; there is no notice period and nobody to phone. Your data is inaccessible from that moment and permanently deleted after a short grace period. We can close an account for non-payment after notice, or immediately for abuse (spam texting, attempts to reach other shops' data, illegal use). If we ever stop offering the product, you get at least 60 days' notice and your export.

Payments through Stripe

Card payments are processed by Stripe under your own Stripe account and Stripe's terms. Disputes, refunds and payouts follow Stripe's rules; we give you the tools and the evidence pack, and we do not hold your money.

What we do not promise

We aim for the product to be available all the time and we monitor it, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for lost bookings, lost revenue or indirect losses, and our total liability to you in any twelve months is capped at what you paid us in those twelve months. This does not limit anything the law does not allow us to limit.

The boring parts

  • These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and Canada. Disputes go to the courts of Ontario unless the law where you are gives you a different right.
  • If one clause is unenforceable, the rest stand.
  • These terms, the pricing page and the privacy policy are the whole agreement. Changes take effect on the date shown at the top; we tell shops inside the product before a change that affects money.
